Bach notes

  • Linen, towels and tea towels not supplied, but there are plenty of pillows, blankets and duvets.
  • The bedrooms consist of…
    ○ 1 x Queen bed in main bedroom
    ○ 2 x single beds in middle bedroom
    ○ 1 x Queen bed in the third bedroom
  • BBQ key is hanging up on the side of the kitchen window. Gas bottles for the BBQ can be refilled at the Rotoma Service Station. (approx 15 minutes along Whakatane Highway).
  • Our shared jetty is the one on the left as you are facing the lake.
  • Please do not drive or park on front lawn unless urgent
On arrival…
  • Power is turned on at fuse box above kitchen door. It may be on already.
  • Cold water should be on already but if not it can be turned on, out the back beside the power pole (behind the shed next to the boundary).
  • Hot water cylinder is in hallway cupboard and may be off when you arrive - it will take a few hours to heat up if no one has been there for a day or two.
  • Please only put laundry powder in the MIDDLE compartment of the machine, NOT on the left side. It goes hard, blocks the water and results in a flood.
  • Please use the red rubbish bags provided (they are in the other hallway cupboard). Please keep in mind they’re allocated from the council, and rather expensive so need to be used sparingly.
  • If something breaks (particularly glasses, cups, plates, electric blankets), lightbulbs blow or there is an issue PLEASE TELL US! We aren’t able to get into the bach all the time, so rely on feedback from renters to help us care for the place.
When leaving please…
  • Leave the bach as you found it.
  • The bathroom and toilet needs to be thoroughly cleaned, same with the kitchen.
  • Wipe out the fridge & oven. Leave fridge doors open.
  • Mop floors and vacuum.
  • Leave washing machine door open.
  • Remove ALL rubbish. Rotorua District Council rubbish bags are provided.Council collection is on Mondays from Wharetoroa Drive bin near the boatramp. Please take glass & other recycling items away with you.
  • Take all your empty bottles & other recycling items away with you please.
  • Let us know of any damage, or if there is anything you think we need toknow about… empty gas bottles or whatever.
  • Cover bbq with blue tarp.
  • Lock windows & ranch sliders, including the placement of the woodbattens.
  • Leave shade louvres partly open (this allows the rain to travel down & out).
  • Trun the power off at the mains
  • Leave cold water on.
  • Turn hot water off at switch by cylinder.
  • Leave the key in the lock box.
  • Shut gate on departure, and lock it as well as securing the wooden sliding latch between the gates.

Thank you for cleaning and locking up our family bach and treating it with care and respect.
